Getting Your Home Ready For The Market
$1,500 - $5,500

How Much Do small Landscaping Projects Cost? When you're getting a home ready for sale you're generally looking for quick, affordable, projects that will improve your curb appeal without spending a fortune.  The easiest (most affordable) way to do this is to give the property a thorough cleanup, a little bit of a facelift, and to complete any necessary repairs to items like irrigation systems, landscape lighting, edging, and any other obvious eye-sores.

With a budget in the $1,500 to $5,500 range here are some projects that could be completed.

Thorough Yard Cleanup:  Often a good landscape cleanup can work wonders on a property that hasn't received a lot of attention over the last few years.  Trimming trees, hedges, and shrubs, cleaning out garden beds, removing the organic debris, re-establishing garden bed and lawn edges, and installing fresh mulch to give the beds a nice, neat, and uniform look.

Garden Bed Makeover If your home has front garden beds or garden beds that border the driveway these can be revitalized and given a new look with a good cleanout, new seasonal and native plantings for interest and color, and a fresh layer of mulch to give the beds a uniform appearance.

Complete Necessary Repairs:  If you have broken sprinkler heads or landscape lighting that isn't working, broken fencing or gates, maybe a few pavers on your walkway or patio are raised or sunken, and other obvious landscape eye-sores.  Focus on repairing these issues so any potential new homeowners can see the property is cared for and ready-to-move in without them having to repair all of these issues.

This is a realistic budget range to get an average sized landscape in Virginia Beach cleaned up so the property can be put on the market.  These particular projects will drastically improve curb appeal without spending a fortune and they can be completed fairly quickly.

Front Yard Curb Appeal Improvements
$5,500 - $15,000+

Front Yard Curb Appeal ImprovementsFront yard landscaping plays the most significant role in shaping the first impression of your home, contributing to the overall curb appeal and perceived value of your property. A well-designed and maintained front yard not only enhances the aesthetics of your residence but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for you and your family, your guests, and even potential buyers if you're looking to sell.

With a budget in the $5,500 to $15,000 range here are some projects that could be completed.  With a budget on the $5k side you may be limited to one or two of the below items.  With a budget on the $15k side you could likely do most if not all of these items.

Yard Cleanup:  Often a good landscape cleanup can work wonders on a property that hasn't received a lot of attention over the last few years.  Trimming trees, hedges, and shrubs, cleaning out garden beds, removing organic debris, establishing edges, and aerating and overseeding the lawn to repair any brown or patchy areas.

Garden Bed Design:  Working from a professionally created design can really improve the looks of your front yard landscaping.  We can alter your garden bed layouts, we can choose very specific native plantings, we can design for seasonal color, and low maintenance too.  Design work takes a bit of time and expertise but with projects of this size it's a necessary step to ensuring you end up with a front yard landscape that you love!

Garden Bed Makeover:  This could include the installation of new garden beds along a driveway or around your entrance.  If your home has existing front garden beds these can be revitalized and given a new look with a good cleanout, re-edging the borders, new seasonal plantings for interest and color, or a small garden wall surround, and a fresh layer of mulch to give the beds a uniform appearance.

Stormwater Management:  Stormwater management might not sound really exciting but when done right, with a creative touch, it can not only enhance drainage, but it can really improve your curb appeal as well.  Stormwater solutions such as creating a beautiful bio swale or even a dry creek bed add function and help prevent erosion but they are also fantastic landscape features that really add interest to your property.

Mulch Installation:  Mulch is a staple in any landscape makeover whose purpose is to improve curb appeal.  Installing new mulch gives your garden and landscape beds a beautiful new look and helps to protect your plants delicate root systems.

Because this is a limited budget, new construction will be limited.  However, that doesn't mean we can't still make a dramatic difference in the appearance and curb appeal of your property.  By focusing on the right areas we can give you that "wow" factor without you having to spend a fortune.

How We Calculate Our Pricing?

There are many factors that contribute to the cost of landscaping

Landscaping can be a significant investment for homeowners and there are several factors that contribute to the overall cost of a project. Here are some reasons why good quality landscaping is so expensive:

#1.  It's Labor-intensive work: Landscaping involves considerable manual labor, from digging and planting to moving lots of heavy materials such as rock, soil, mulch, or sand. The labor-intensive nature of the work demands skilled professionals who are experienced in various aspects of landscape design and installation, resulting in higher labor costs.

#2.  We use specialized equipment: Landscaping projects often require specialized equipment and often machinery, such as mini-excavators, skid-steers, dump trailers, and more, to efficiently carry out tasks. The cost of renting or purchasing this equipment and ensuring its proper maintenance adds to the overall expense.

#3.  Quality materials: High-quality materials, such as healthy plants, trees, mulch, soil amendments, gravel and materials like river rock or boulders, can be costly. Investing in quality materials is important to ensure the longevity and visual appeal of your landscape, but it certainly does contribute to the overall cost.

#4.  Design and planning: A well-designed landscape requires careful planning and professional expertise, which often involves working with a professional.  Landscape design takes considerable amounts of thought, time, and creativity and will add to the overall project cost.  The experience and knowledge of landscape designers are essential in creating a functional, attractive, and sustainable outdoor space.

#5.  Permits and regulations: Depending on the scope of your project, you may need to obtain permits or comply with local regulations, which can increase the overall cost of the landscaping process.  Generally, if permits are required we will be able to fill out the necessary paperwork and acquire them for you.

#6.  Site preparation: Some landscaping projects require extensive site preparation, such as grading, drainage improvements, and removing or bringing in substantial amounts of materials. These additional steps will add to the overall cost of your project.

While landscaping can certainly be expensive, it's essential to view it as an investment in your property. A well-designed and maintained landscape can increase your home's value, enhance its curb appeal, and provide enjoyment for years to come. By carefully planning your project and working with experienced professionals, you can maximize your investment and create a beautiful, functional outdoor space that suits your needs and budget.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have randomly met Vanessa from EverGreen EcoScapes at a plant sale. After speaking for a few minutes, I could tell she shared the same plant philosophies but was much more knowledgeable than I am. It was a pleasure working with the team from the initial consultation through the completion of my project to replace part of my lawn with native plants. Vanessa took my scattered ideas and turned them into a beautiful garden. They went above what was required and made sure everything was handled. I appreciate Vanessa's attention to detail, knowledge, communication and willingness to educate.  I look forward to working with EverGreen EcoScapes again.

I called Evergreen to get a quote for the two flower beds in front of my home. They came out right on schedule and immediately proved themselves to be friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They asked me questions to get an idea of what i was looking for. I felt certain right away that I wanted them to take care of my landscaping. They're estimate was able what I expected. After we set a date, they arrived when ejected and did AMAZING work. They did such a great job that my wife asked them to do some more with in our backyard, which was also incredible. I was so fortunate to have found them n and I cannot recommend them enough. You will not be disappointed.

Love love love these landscapers. I’ve learned so much about landscaping with native plants that support bird and wildlife. Did u know 1 pair of breeding chickadees requires 6,000 - 9,000 caterpillar larvae to raise 1 clutch of eggs? Neither did I!! Now I’m all into native plants. Finally, I feel like I can make a tangible contribution to saving and enhancing habitat for our non-human relatives with whom we share this planet. AND it can be beautiful. Evergreen Ecoscapes helped me accomplish both! and they’re still helping me 2 months since completion. I can still ask questions and get a professional’s advice. So there’s no sense of abandonment or being on my own with the care of all these new plants in my garden/s. See that Japanese red maple in the garden by the shed? Yeah, it’s taking over our forests and nudging out the native trees that support our native creatures, so it’s gonna be gone next week and Evergreen Ecoscapes will help me choose a native alternative like an elderberry or fringe tree. Can’t wait!

I have been wanting to landscape my front yard (separate garden beds) for several years. So many companies call themselves "landscapers" but seek to sell lawn maintenance packages. Vanessa and her partner, Justin, were the perfect solution to my needs. They listened to my ideas and created charming pollinator gardens beyond anything I expected. So much thought and consideration regarding the soil, sun, shade, and even the position of the water spout -- details that I would have clearly missed on my own! They are very knowledgeable about this region's native plants, as well as the wildlife. Vanessa made every effort to remain in budget by checking various resources to find the best deal. She always sought approval before purchase. My backyard could use some TLC, and I look forward to contacting EverGreen EcoScapes again.
